Sports Clubs
Families and individuals living in Castlelake have a great opportunity to enjoy and compete in many different sporting activities and team events. Get active – get involved and join the fun!
Carrigtwohill has a very strong sporting tradition in County Cork and in Munster, with the Gaelic Athletic Association high on the popularity list. The GAA has excellent facilities in the town, with a modern gymnasium, added to three playing pitches, two of which are floodlit. Carrigtwohill have a Senior team, having won the Cork County Premier Intermediate Hurling championship in 2007. The minor team also won the Minor 'A' Hurling championship that year in a double victory for G.A.A. in the town.
Hurling and Football for all age groups at Juvenile level (Under 7 to under 16). Adult: Minor, Under 21, Junior and Intermediate. First Class facilities are available with 3 playing pitches, a Gymnasium and Ball Alley. Training and Games provided for all with proper supervision.
JUVENILE G.A.A.
All ages from 6 to 16 years are catered for in both hurling and football. The Juvenile club competes from under 11 to under 16 in both hurling and football championships. Training is arranged every Saturday morning for hurling and every Wednesday evening for football from March to October

G.A.A. LADIES FOOTBALL
Teams range from under 10 to Junior level. Training is held twice a week, with matches almost every week. The Ladies compete at East Cork and County level. New players are always welcome.

G.A.A. GYMNASIUM
Situated in the G.A.A. grounds is an ultra modern facility with a wide range of Cardiovascular and Resistance equipment along with Steam Room and Sauna. Opening Times - Mon, Wed,Fri 12.00 Noon to 10.00p.m. Tues, Thurs 2.00p.m. to 10.00p.m., Sat 1.00p.m. to 6.00p.m., Sun 11.00a.m. to 1.00p.m. To Join - Call to the Gym on Monday nights between 8 and 9 p.m.

CUFC facilitate boys from 8 years of age upwards at Slatty Park, (just beside Millipore), Schoolboys training takes place on Wednesday night. Junior team training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday nights. New members are always welcome.

Carrigtwohill B.C. is affiliated to the Cork County Badminton Association ( C.C.B.A.) and is a member of the Badminton Union of Ireland. The club has approx. 50 adult members and 20-30 juvenile members who play twice a week between September and May at Carrigtwohill's Community Center. The club caters for all levels of badminton players, from the absolute beginner to the more experienced and skilled player. New members always welcome.

The Juvenile Athletic caters for all children from ages 7 to 18 inclusive. Summer Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.00 p.m. The Club participates in Community Games Athletics at local, county and national events. New members and helpers/coaches very welcome

COMMUNITY GAMES
The Community Games provide a wide range of sporting and cultural activities for children from under 8 to under 16. Competition starts each year in February/March with local events through to County, Provincial and to the National Finals in August. There are 33 activities, from individual events like art, gymnastics & judo to team events of chess & draughts, choir & variety, Olympic handball, pitch & putt, rounders and tag rugby.
