Activities
Activities near Castlelake include several excellent golf courses, adventure sports, guided hikes, horseback riding (Carrigtwohill even has its very own Point to Point race held in February!), karting or quad biking, tennis and greyhound racing in nearby Youghal. Water sports include world renowned sailing, surfing, kayaking and windsurfing. You can also take a trip out to sea for some whale and dolphin watching or enjoy a guided harbour cruise to see the old forts in Cork Harbour. For the angler, there is a choice of freshwater, deep-sea and shore angling.
For family fun, Trabolgan Holiday Village has a vast array of activities that can be experienced on a family day pass, including a massive indoor swimming pool complex with wave machines and slides as well as a Kart Track. Swimming pools and leisure centres are also open to the public in Cobh and Youghal. Nearby, more family fun can be found at Perks Family Centre and Bridgefield Buggies
