carrigtohill_trainTrain Access is one of the very big attractions of the Castlelake development. The Cork to Midleton line, which opened in July 2009, includes a station right on site at Castlelake! Residents can literally walk from their homes to the railway station. If your work or leisure requires a trip to Midleton, Little Island, Glounthaune or Cork city, access could not be easier. The same kind of trains run on the Cork to Midleton line as currently run on the Cork to Cobh line. These are two-car DMU (Diesel Multiple Units). It is intended to commence the service by running trains half-hourly for the morning and evening peak demand periods and less frequently during the day and off-peak.  Timetables for trains can be accessed through the Irish Rail web site.
