Carrigtwohill Family Resource Centre

The Family Resource Centre on Main Street Carrigtwohill was set up in 1991 under the aegis of the local St. Brigid’s Conference of Saint Vincent De. Paul as a practical response to the needs of people who were experiencing social isolation and other difficulties. 

Mission Statement:
The aim of the Centre is to build friendship with those experiencing social personal and family needs.

The Centre has in conjunction with its users developed a number of programmes and activities which include the following: 

After schools Club
Breakfast Club
Homework Support
Youth Club
Drama Club.
“Well Being” Group
Walking Group
Walk Tall Programme
Shared Reading Group
Toddlers Group
Book Club
Knitting Group
Women’s Support Group.

An important activity for the Centre is its Adult Education Programme which is supported by Cork County VEC.

Classes include

  • Computers (Beginners and Advanced FETAC)
  • Child Care(FETAC Level 4/5/6)
  • English Classes for non nationals.
  • Pilates
  • Yoga.
