In association with Ogra Corcai and the Carrigtwohill Community Association, fun activities and games will take place between 6.30 and 7.30 on the Green on Thursdays, for kids between 7 and 12 years of age.

 To take part in ‘Thursdays On The Green’ it is necessary to register first. Registrations will commence at the opening of the Amenity Lake on Monday. It will then become possible to register online (parents will have to firstly become online members of ‘Your Castlelake’ to register their children).

We will let you know the location of our ‘Club House’ shortly. It will be one of the ground floor apartments at Castlelake. Parents are also welcome each evening and there will be tea and coffee on hand.

When parents register their children, they will also be obliged to commit to a supervision rota. Parents will be advised when it will be their turn to help out.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Srategically located in Carrigtwohill, Castlelake is situated in part of Metropolitan Cork. The development is alongside the N25 road and adjacent to all the main arteries running north, south, east and west. Close to the Jack Lynch Tunnel, it is a perfect location from which to access anywhere in Cork city, county and nationwide - not only by road, but with a direct 15 minute rail link to Cork city, including its own railway station on site.  Carrigtwohill is also covered with an extensive bus service   on route 261 from Cork to Midleton, with connections also to Youghal, Whitegate, Cloyne, Ballycotton and Ardmore.

Why Carrigtwohill

Carrigtwohill is strategically located in Munster in Southern Ireland and eleven kilometers east of Cork City. Known as the gateway to East Cork, and until recently, a small rural village, the population and community has rapidly expanded in recent years. The area is surrounded by natural unspoilt countryside and is also close to the sea. The eastern end of Carrigtwohill encompasses the original village with its church, schools, Main Street, pubs and various amenities. The area is dominated by the magnificent Castle of Barryscourt (evoked by our Castlelake logo, which builds on the traditions of old and our proud proximity to Barryscourt Castle). Close by are several other attractions such as Fota Island, with its wildlife park, house, gardens and championship golf course, the historic town of Cobh and the Midleton Distillery. Carrigtwohill boasts a strong community with many services and recreational facilities.

What they say about Castlelake...

KerryAnn & Stephan;
We have lived in Castlelake for
the past 5 years and couldn’t be happier. We love going
for walks around the lake, our little girl loves feeding
the ducks.

Martin;
I can’t imagine living anywhere else! Everything is on my door step…I’m in work in ten minutes in Little Island, Aldi is great to pick up the dinner, and I’m really involved in local sports clubs.

Jack & Rose;
We bought our first home in Castlelake in ‘04. We loved it so much we bought a larger house some years later. We love it, the kids love it - there is a great community here.

" The Castlelake developments have done so much for the area. Looking outside the front door says it all...nice green areas, new lake almost ready and at Christmas a fantastic party for the whole community to enjoy! I brought a friend and her children and they were so impressed with the gifts and treats".

"My apartment is spacious and well designed. The grounds surrounding the houses and apartments are well maintained. The entrance to Castlelake is warm and welcoming and beautifully laid out. I enjoy living here, it's a friendly and safe environment and it's quiet and peaceful considering all of the houses in the estate".

"Its great - I can't wait for lake to open, I enjoy walking around the estate. It is run very efficiently with very pro-active management. Hopefully we will see more people moving into the estate".

"Quite and peaceful - no hassle".

"Great location with its close proximity to the city, yet relaxing village ambience. I adore living here! Its a small community, close to city with no aggro and no neighbourhood problems. I feel a great sense of belonging, not only of acceptance by the Castlelake Community, but also by the whole Carrigtwohill community in general. I just joined the local GAA and can't believe how great it all is! I never thought I  would like living in a rural area again since I left home in the west of Ireland but boy was I wrong!".

carrigtohill_trainTrain Access is one of the very big attractions of the Castlelake development. The Cork to Midleton line, which opened in July 2009, includes a station right on site at Castlelake! Residents can literally walk from their homes to the railway station. If your work or leisure requires a trip to Midleton, Little Island, Glounthaune or Cork city, access could not be easier. The same kind of trains run on the Cork to Midleton line as currently run on the Cork to Cobh line. These are two-car DMU (Diesel Multiple Units). It is intended to commence the service by running trains half-hourly for the morning and evening peak demand periods and less frequently during the day and off-peak.  Timetables for trains can be accessed through the Irish Rail web site.
